Maritim Hotelgesellschaft mbH is one of Germany’s largest hotel chains and is headquartered in Bad Salzuflen, North Rhine-Westphalia. Maritim operates 25 hotels in Germany and 10 hotels in 7 countries abroad. The company’s first hotel, the Maritim Seehotel in Timmendorfer Strand, opened in 1969. Its location directly by the sea inspired both the company name and its logo. The company is owned by Christel and Monika, the daughters of founder Hans-Joachim Gommolla, who passed away in 1994. Monika is also Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board.
