Kiel Christmas Market

26th November to 23rd December 2018

With special maritime charm, the regional capital of Schleswig-Holstein welcomes visitors to the Christmas Market in Kiel city centre, on Asmus-Bremer Platz and in the Old Town. Fans of this season of goodwill are invited to a very special winter stroll through the town, where they can settle down to a peaceful glass of punch and other tasty winter morsels after the pre-Christmas rush.

43rd Kieler Umschlag (Trade Forum)

28th February to 3rd March 2019

In March, Kiel gets into a medieval mood with the "Kieler Umschlag" trade forum. The largest fair and family festival in Kiel's city centre has its roots in a medieval market that has taken place every year since 1431. On 3 March 2019, all the shops and stores in the city centre will open their doors from 1 to 6 p.m. to join in the festivities.

11. Kieler Bootshafensommer (Kiel Harbour Music Festival

19th July to 24th August 2019

Visitors are treated to sounds from all genres from a floating stage in the harbour. The colourful and diverse programme is seasoned with numerous themed days and is free-of-charge for spectators! Cool beverages and tasty treats keep spirits high in between the performances.

Farmers' and regional market

4th to 6th October 2019

Bucolic flair will entice you to Kiel's city centre! From the Sophienhof to the Alter Markt (Old Market Square), local autumnal products such as pumpkins, cabbages and a variety of cheeses are on offer. A generous array of hearty farmhouse and autumnal dishes ensure no one goes hungry. In addition, you can marvel at arts & crafts and the vintage tractors of classic vehicle fans. At the international smiths' gathering on the Old Market Square, people young and old can wield the smiths' hammer themselves and forge their own individual souvenir. After that, the goats in the petting zoo at Gettorf Animal Park on Holstenplatz are looking forward to some TLC from younger visitors.
