Herdringen Castle

Castle built according to the plans of the master cathedral builder Zwirner, built partly in the English Tudor style. This was the venue and set for various films made by Edgar Wallace. Unfortunately, the castle can only be viewed from outside (seat of the Baron of Fürstenberg-Herdringen).

Rothaarsteig

Rothaarsteig: the trail of the senses. This is a place where you can take a break from everyday life. From Brilon in Sauerland across the Wittgensteiner Bergland and the Siegerland till Dillenburg at the foot of the Westerwald, the 154 km long elevated trekking trail was laid afresh entirely, with the aim of achieving highest quality. Numerous vantage points with views, adventure stations, a hanging bridge, specially designed resting benches, forest recliners and forest sofas, sculptures and much more await you.

Ebbegebirge Natural Park

True to its image, the natural park area provides a varied landscape typical of the Central German Uplands. It is covered up to about two-thirds by forests. Open biking surfaces follow the main lines and the numerous subsidiary valleys, but run over high, flat terrain. Characteristic elements are the many river barrages, of which the Biggetal Dam including the Listersee is the biggest. Thus, the Ebbegebirge Natural Park provides ideal conditions for a varied and adventurous excursion or holiday. Rambles, water sport and winter sports are just some of the numerous possible leisure activities. Among the attractions of the Ebbegebirge Nature Park, besides the ten river barrages (Bigge, Lister, Ahauser-Stausee, Oester, Verse, Kerspe, Glör, Fürwigge, Lingetal and Jubach), the various viewing towers, several fortresses and hill forts, churches and museums are the world's famous drip stone caves with stalactites and stalagmites (Atta Caves) in Attendorn.

Panorama-Park Sauerland

Embedded almost picturesquely in the primitive forest landscape of the Rothaargebirge near Kirchhundem/Olpe district is the Panorama-Park Sauerland. Spread over an area of 800,000 square metres it provides a colourful world of adventure for young and old alike. From small children to senior citizens, the Panorama-Park Sauerland provides entertainment and fun for every age. "Pano's Wunderland" was designed especially for the youngest of children: A children's world with plenty to discover: climbing paradise made of natural wood, mirror chamber, ball pool, trampolin and much more. And not very far from here: the "Rote Baron", a flying carousel for the next generation of pilots. In addition to this children will find plenty of opportunities for active games scattered all over the park. Those who are hungry for fun and action get their money's worth here. Snuggled in the midst of nature are the rolling and bobbing track, the "Fichtenflitzer" (1,200 m), the roller coaster called the "Flinker Fridolin", the engine driven karts "Formel Fun", the water bob and many other attractions. You should not miss the large sliding paradise with free fall slides; on specially sliding mats designed especially for the purpose, 40 m long steel tubes with 60% gradient are placed. But those who think this park is only about action are wrong. Nature and technology, fun and recreation are brought together ideally at the Panorama-Park.
