The trademark of the city of Bad Godesberg, it is located on an elevation, watching over the people living at its base. The foundation stone for the fortress was laid on 15th October 1210 by Archbishop Dietrich. In 2003 the fortress threw open its doors after renovation. The walls, steeped in tradition, have been supplemented by modern architecture, creating an overall impression that begins with history and ends with the brilliance of modernity.
Former summer castle of the Prince Elector Clemens August. It was dedicated to the natural science collection of the university in 1818. The surrounding parks for the botanical gardens today.

At the geographic centre of Bonn is the Rheinaue Amusement Park, which hosted the German Garden Show in 1979. A network of pedestrian paths stretching over 45 km lead to the park, 6 km of this walk run along the Rhine bank promenade.
